"The First Mile"

I was running this morning and God brought this commercial back to my heart. I think this commercial paints a great picture of what happens to us spiritually when we choose to run (live a life) with Christ. Sin will try to entangle you so it makes it harder to run. We have areas in our life that bring us down could be people, our past, relationships, or even family. We only have two choices; we can let our past pull us down or we can continue to keep running. We have to know that we have an enemy that wants us to give up in our race. He want to discourage you and make you think "It's to Hard"!! I want to challenge you to "Stay in the Battle" don't give up keep running and push through was has stopped you in the past!! Hebrews 12:1 says 1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

One Chance

I heard Michael Jordan say in an interview one time that he played every game like it was someone in the stands only opportunity to see him play. He said that some dad was working extra hours to save up enough money to buy a ticket so that his son could see "Michael Jordan" play basketball and that was going to be that kids only chance. I think we need to have the same mentality about our ministry. We need to treat every event the same way MJ treats a game. Your event could be the only opportunity a student will ever have to hear the gospel. We need to take what we do as serious as MJ. I told Loren Hopf(Girls associate)this after we had a rough event, "I hate having bad event more than I love having a great one"....Hopefully that makes sense!!! We all need to be as passionate about presenting the gospel as Mj was about his game and we all know how that worked out for him....Become Legendary!!!

Failure

Every time I see this commercial it reminds me to look at failure in a different light. One of the most successful basketball players ever learned to use failure as a tool to become great. Sometimes failure will come to your ministry, your job, your relationships, your friendships, and even your marriage. You must learn to use you failure as a tool for future success!!!
